Incheon National University Signs MOU with the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in Australia for Student Programs and University–Industry Cooperation
Australia-Based Internship and Academic Credit Recognition Programs Planned for INU Students
Expanding Student Opportunities Through Business Visits, Practical Training, and Cooperation with Companies in Australia
Incheon National University (INU), led by President Injae Lee, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in Australia, headed by President Ha Jang-ho, on September 29 at its Songdo Campus. The agreement focuses on student development programs and cooperation between the university and companies in Australia.
Through the agreement, INU and the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in Australia plan to build a cooperative relationship and provide students with more opportunities to gain practical experience and develop professional skills in Australia.
The two organizations agreed to cooperate in four main areas. These include connecting INU students with internship programs at Korean-owned member companies in Australia and linking eligible programs to academic credit recognition; organizing business visits, company tours, and mentoring programs; providing information on employment opportunities at participating companies and assistance for students preparing to live and work in Australia; and sharing information on economic and industrial activities in Korea and Australia through meetings and university–industry seminars.
INU also plans to gradually introduce overseas internship programs connected to interdisciplinary education offered by the HUSS Inclusive Society Initiative Project Group and other university programs. These activities will allow students to apply what they have learned in their courses, gain experience in different working environments, and develop practical business skills.
President Injae Lee of Incheon National University said, “This agreement with the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in Australia is meaningful because it creates new opportunities for cooperation with companies and organizations in Australia.”
He added, “I hope this partnership will provide our students with more opportunities to participate in practical training and internships and develop their abilities through experiences in Australia and the Oceania region.”
Ha Jang-ho, President of the Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in Australia, said, “We will support INU students in gaining practical experience and developing professional skills through opportunities with companies in Australia.”
He added, “We hope this cooperation will create more opportunities for students preparing for their careers and support continued collaboration between the university and Korean businesses operating in Australia.”
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from both organizations, including INU President Injae Lee, HUSS Project Group Deputy Director Jang Jung-ah, Professor Park Young-eun, and Federation of Korean Chambers of Commerce in Australia President Ha Jang-ho. Participants discussed plans for future programs and cooperation activities.
